Surf The Wave UK are offering bursaries to support conversations and relationship development between those who make dance and those who present and programme dance so that more dance can be shown and seen in all contexts. Applicants can request up to £200 to support travel or accommodation expenses, time and/or tickets.
Geographic spread and diversity of artists and venues will be considered in awarding the bursaries. Proposed activity must happen within three months and you will be asked to provide a short report on how the trip went and what outcomes you anticipated and / or happened. Brief details on awards given and resulting outcomes will be shared publicly to disseminate learning.
The bursaries are open to UK based artists (who are professionally touring publicly funded performance work), venues and programmers including:
- Artists to visit a venue or programmer to develop relationships
- Programmers / venues to go to see a show
- Programmers / venues to visit an artist’s sharing or Research and Development process
Priority will be given to artists, programmers and venues who attended the Surf The Wave UK Intensives or the UK Dance Showcase but other artists and programmers can apply.
The deadline for applications is Thursday 22 August.
