The Black Male Performing Body

In this presentation I discuss my choreographic work in relation to the black male performing body. Through examples drawn from my solo and collaborative practice I examine creativity from the margins. I, both acknowledge the marginal role blackness plays in white contemporary dance and the creative potential of blackness to disrupt this arrangement.

About Colin

Colin Poole is an independent choreographer and performer. His interest lies in dance and ‘human’ conflict. Currently, he is completing a practice based PhD at Coventry University where he is investigating the topic of whiteness and trauma.
