Outdoor performance is an area rich with opportunities for dance professionals to become involved in – from commercial to bespoke events. Understanding how to work in different settings, including collaborating with a variety of partners, artists, programmers, and producers, will support development of your practice generally and in the outdoor sphere specifically. We hear from Abbe Robinson, Festival Director at Light Night Leeds and Victoria Firth, Performer, Theatre Maker and Director, who move between venue, outdoor and festival presentations. They share their experience with thoughts on site specific, festival networks, place making and the new normal for outdoor art.
